Enough's Enough! We Have Officially Taken This "Seeker Friendly" Thing Way Too Far!

Need I say more!

Beginning Thursday, Destin United Methodist Church will offer "Hot Wings Bible Study" at the Hooter's Restaurant in Destin, an establishment known across the country for its scantily clad waitresses and hot wings.

"It's a study for people who haven't studied the Bible a whole lot. It will be beginner's style," said Sharron, the assistant pastor at the Methodist church one of bringing the gospel Destin's largest, to the marketplace.

I don't know. I can kind of see the point of it.

For example, if a couple of unbelievers said to me, "Dude, could you join us for a Bible study. We meet at Hooters every other Thursday night at eight," I would probably say, "Ok."

Would you feel the same way if they had a bible study in a strip club? Or a brothel? Porn store? A peep-show?

I think we can honor God by having a meeting location than at a place that has half dressed women. Let's say someone's home, a public library, a school, a restaurant - but a bar that has half dressed women that might tempt someone to lust in their hearts is not what the Lord had in mind when we are to share the gospel (1 Cor 8:9-13). Let us show the world we ARE different and choose not to go into certain establishments so we do not dishonor the Lord and cause someone to sin!

I would suggest you take to heart the instructions Paul says to the Ephesians in Eph 5:1-4

1 Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children 2and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

3But among you there must not be EVEN A HINT of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people. 4Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving.
