A New Website

Hey Everyone! I realize its been a couple of months since I last posted an update here, but I have been busy with family, church and other projects i have been working on. As a matter of fact the purpose for this post is to announce a new website that I have been working on with a friend of mine. The new website is called http://www.thegodtheyneverknew.com/. The site is essentially an on-line digital book of a book that was originally published in 1978 and then a revised version in 1982. The book is titled: "The God They Never Knew: Tragedy of Religion without Relationship" by George Otis Jr. With permission from the author we are now able to provide this book on-line to share with the rest of the world.

This book is probably one of the most influential books in my life, as well as many others who have had the courage to read it and take its words to heart. It is simply one of the most compelling books both theologically and biblically. I hope you take an opportunity to go and read the book in its entirety and I am sure you will be blessed by its contents.

Hey, I preached last night (for the first time), and my message was on the conflict that Christians (and people in the church) have set up between "religion" and "relationship." One of the focal points of my message was that the two are completely intertwined -- when viewed through the lenses of James' description of "religion" in James 2 (and a number of other passages).

As soon as I get through with the other books you've loaned me, I'll get into this one. Thanks for the recommendation! For some reason I've fallen back into my "not much time to read" mode. I've been off-loading some things and trying to be more organized, and it actually seems to be working! Go figure... :)

I'm very excited about having hard copies of this book to give away. You and Dave have done an amazing job with getting this book online!

Hey Dean! This is indeed a book that has made a tremendous impact on my life and I hope it will bless you as much as it has blessed me. BTW - I have a copy of the book so if you'd like I could give it to you when you give me Pagan and Revolution back.
